Kozari and Lee are taking the ice together for the third time this postseason; the pair worked BOS/CAR Game 7 in Round 1 before moving on to handle STL/COL Game 1 and EDM/CGY Game 2 in Round 2.

Steve Kozari worked the opening round with Kyle Rehman, taking the ice for LAK/EDM Game 1, NSH/COL Game 2, NYR/PIT Game 3, FLA/WSH Game 4 (FLA W 3-2), and MIN/STL Game 6.

Chris Lee handled PIT/NYR Game 1, TOR/TBL Game 3 (TBL L 2-5), CAR/BOS Game 4, and EDM/LAK Game 6, all with referee Frederick L’Ecuyer.

Kozari and Lee, combined, average 17.5 PIM/game, handing out 7.5 power plays per game.  Lee has whistled the fewest penalties of the playoffs, with an average of 16 PIM in the games he’s worked.  Both hand out more power plays to the home team, with Kozari (0.7 more per game) and Lee (0.8 more per game).  Home teams get 54.9% of the power plays under Kozari and Lee.

Sudsy and Mac joined forces in Round 2 for back for their second game together this postseason, having worked TBL/FLA Game 1 and NYR/CAR Game 2.

Kelly Sutherland skated with Jake Brenk in Round 1, working STL/MIN Game 1 (STL W 4-0), LAK/EDM Game 2, COL/NSH Game 3 (COL W 7-3), NYR/PIT Game 4, and TOR/TBL Game 6. He also worked PIT/NYR Game 7 with Gord Dwyer.

Jon McIsaac was paired with Eric Furlatt for WSH/FLA Game 1, PIT/NYR Game 2, CGY/DAL Game 3, and BOS/CAR Game 5. Tonight is McIsaac’s first elimination game of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Sutherland and McIsaac, combined, average 21.6 PIM/game, handing out 7.2 power plays per game.  Under McIsaac, home teams get 56% of the power plays, third-highest among officials working Round 2.

With this a potential elimination game, we have two officials – one referee and one linesman – on standby.
