The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League has announced their officials for the 2024-25 season.
New Officials
New to the Q are referees Samuel Charette, Émile Leblanc, and William Kelly. Also joining the league are linesmen Pierre-Olivier Couture, Adam Culbert, Benjamin Fortin, Émeric Massé, and Jarrod MacAdam.
Changing Assignments
Sam Currie and Jack Robinson pick up the armbands for 2024-25, making the jump from lines to referee.
Dearly Departed
Referees Jean-Philippe Sylvain and Kevin Maillé retired at the end of last season, as did linesmen Yannick Gaudreault and Jean-Philippe Michaud. Others no longer working in the Q this season include refs Cédric Beaudet and Harrison O’Pray, along with linesmen Alexander Cameron and David-Daniel Pendleton.
Upcoming Milestones
Referee Nic Dutil (1,220 games, second all-time) will continue to chase Eric Charron’s all-time record of 1,297 games officiated, but he won’t get there this season. Ref Sylvain Losier (991) will hit the 1000-games milestone early in the season, while Patrick Morin is expected to hit the 800-game mark. Referee Josh Deyoung (17 seasons) and linesmen David Rodrigue (22 seasons) and Marc Simard (21 seasons) are set to retire at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
