NHL linesperson Jonny Murray won’t be slowing down this offseason. Instead, the 26-year NHL veteran will be helping develop the next generation of officials through an intensive powerskating camp designed exclusively for on-ice officials.

Murray’s program zeroes in on the core elements of elite officiating mobility: acceleration, edge control, transitions, skating efficiency, and the body language required to manage the game. His approach draws on more than 1,800 NHL regular‑season and playoff games – including seven Stanley Cup Finals – along with over two decades of teaching experience.

He won’t be the only National Hockey League official taking part. Fellow NHL officials Eric Furlatt, Pierre Lambert, Jonathan Deschamps, and Jeremy Faucher will join Murray on the ice as instructors.

The 2026 Powerskating Referee Camp will be split into two tailored groups:

  • Officials with 1–5 years of experience looking to strengthen technique, improve efficiency, and build strong foundational habits.
  • Elite officials working at the provincial, QMJHL, ECHL, or AHL levels who want to refine technical details, optimize performance, and meet higher‑league standards.

The camp runs July 29–31, 2026, at the Complexe Bonair de l’Ancienne‑Lorette in Quebec
