Hockey Quebec Director of Officiating and Player Safety Marc Maisonneuve has died suddenly at the age of 50.

It is with deep sadness that the entire Hockey Québec family learned in the last few hours of the sudden passing of our Director of Officiating and Player Safety, Marc Maisonneuve.
Marc was a pillar of our Federation for 11 years, first as Officiating Coordinator, and more recently as Director of Officiating and Player Safety. He dedicated more than 20 years to the development of officials within the Federation, leaving a lasting impact on several generations of referees.
His passing leaves an immense void within our organization and throughout the Québec hockey community. Marc was a truly valued colleague, always available, principled, unifying and deeply compassionate.
Hockey Québec, its members and the entire hockey community extend their sincerest condolences to Marc’s family and loved ones.
“I knew Marc for over 20 years. He wasn’t just a colleague, but a personal friend,” said Yanick Gagné, Executive Director of the Quebec U18 AAA Hockey League. “We are all deeply saddened by his passing. He was a man dedicated to the advancement of officiating in Quebec. Appreciated by all, his loss will leave a great void.”
