Go behind the scenes with the Ottawa Senators’ video team – Mike King and Josh Mallory – including pre-game prep, in-game reviews, and Coach’s Challenges.

Jump to 11:42 for a Bruins goal that appeared to be offside. With the play happening in the final minute, it’s automatically reviewed by the NHL’s Situation Room to confirm it was onside and that there was no goaltender interference. The Sens’ room, though, took a look anyway, deciding the play was offside. After the league reviewed, they ruled it a good goal… much to the surprise of King and Mallory.

Here’s the NHL’s official ruling:

There was no conclusive video evidence to show that Boston’s Viktor Arvidsson preceded the puck into the attacking zone. Therefore, the call on the ice stands.

Of course, Brady Tkachuk had to weigh in as well.

“What an awful challenge!”
