Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi has been fined $5000 for elbowing Philadelphia Flyers forward Garnet Hathaway.
Domi’s high elbow came at 5:08 of the third period. As Hathaway carried the puck up the boards in the defensive zone, Domi delivered a high, hard elbow to the head from behind. The Toronto winger was given a minor penalty for elbowing on the play.
The hit appeared to be in retaliation for an earlier fight between Hathaway and Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe that saw McCabe leave the game due to injury.
Referees for the game were Jean Hebert (#15) and Ghislain Hebert (#22); linespersons were Ryan Jackson (#84) and James Tobias (#66).
