Referee Frederick L’Ecuyer was selected as a standby referee for the second round; he appears to be filling in for referee Wes McCauley, who – despite advancing – has not seen the ice since VGK/DAL Game 7.
L’Ecuyer was paired with Chris Lee in Round 1, working TBL/FLA Game 2 (FLA W 3-2 OT), NYR/WSH Game 3, and VAN/NSH Game 4. The Boston Bruins are 9-0-2 over the past two seasons under referee Frederick L’Ecuyer.
Charron skated alongside Graham Skilliter in the opening round at LAK/EDM Game 1, BOS/TOR Game 3 (BOS W 4-2), and NSH/VAN Game 5.
This duo also worked COL/DAL Game 2.

Rooney and Skilliter are a new pairing for Round 2, having worked BOS/FLA Game 1 and NYR/CAR Game 3. This duo worked together just once during the regular season (CGY/VGK on January 13).
Rooney worked the opening round with Peter MacDougall, officiating VGK/DAL Game 2, EDM/LAK Game 3 (EDM W 6-1), and WPG/COL Game 4. He paired up with referee Dan O’Rourke for BOS/TOR Game 6.
The Vancouver Canucks have not lost a game in regulation under referee Chris Rooney for the past three seasons, going 10-0-1 over that span.
Skilliter skated alongside ref Francis Charron – who has also advanced – with the duo handling LAK/EDM Game 1 (EDM W 7-4), BOS/TOR Game 3, and NSH/VAN Game 5 (VAN L 2-1).
Stats have been updated through the end of the 2023-24 regular season.

Number in orange/parentheses indicated referee’s rank among active officials.
* Penalty Differential represents the absolute value of the variance of penalty calls by team per game. If Team A takes two more penalties (or two fewer) than Team B, this is a 2. Lower numbers indicate less variance between total penalties in a game – that is, a closer number of calls for both teams.
