Refs Chris Rooney and Jean Hebert worked together for the first time at SEA/DAL Game 7, and it looks they’ll be continuing that partnership in the Conference Finals.
Rooney previously skated alongside fellow ref Graham Skilliter during the postseason, having combined forces at MIN/DAL Game 2, BOS/FLA Game 3 (FLA L 2-4), TOR/TBL Game 4, NYR/NJD Game 5, and SEA/COL Game 7 — along with FLA/TOR Game 2 (FLA W 3-2), DAL/SEA Game 3, and VGK/EDM Game 3 in the Conference Semifinals.
Hebert worked with referee Kyle Rehman, with the duo paired up since the start of the playoff, handling LAK/EDM Game 2, COL/SEA Game 3, VGK/WPG Game 4, TBL/TOR Game 5, and NJD/NYR Game 6 in Round 1, as well as SEA/DAL Game 1, NJD/CAR Game 2 (CAR W 6-1), VGK/EDM Game 3, and FLA/TOR Game 5 (FLA W 3-2 – Series Win) in the Second Round.
Linesmen David Brisebois and Matt MacPherson are working together for the first time in the postseason.
Brisebois previously skated alongside Bevan Mills in the Conference Semifinals, working EDM/VGK Game 1, DAL/SEA Games 3 and 4, and FLA/TOR Game 5. He worked the opening round with Ryan Gibbons at NYI/CAR Game 1, NYR/NJD Games 2 and 3, MIN/DAL Game 4, switching to skate alongside Jonny Murray for FLA/BOS Game 7.
MacPherson worked Round 2 with linesman Brad Kovachik, manning the lines at FLA/TOR Game 2, VGK/EDM Games 3 and 4, and DAL/SEA Game 6. In the opening round, MacPherson skated alongside Jesse Marquis at TBL/TOR Game 1, BOS/FLA Games 3 and 4, NYI/CAR Game 5, and NJD/NYR Game 6.
Standby Officials: Chris Lee, Brad Kovachik
* Numbers in orange represent ref’s ranking among active officials.
* Penalty Differential represents the absolute value of the variance of penalty calls by team per game. If Team A takes two more penalties (or two fewer) than Team B, this is a 2 Lower numbers indicate less variance between total penalties in a game – that is, a closer number of calls for both teams.
Playoff stats updated through May 17. Regular season stats have been updated through the end of the 2022-23 regular season.
