Refs Wes McCauley and Eric Furlatt are back from Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final (NYR W 6-2), where they called 30 PIM but only handed out five power plays.  The duo also worked COL/EDM Game 3.

McCauley and Furlatt previously partnered up in Round 1 for TBL/TOR Game 7 (TBL W 2-1), then continued in Round 2 at EDM/CGY Game 1, STL/COL Game 3, and CAR/NYR Game 4 (NYR W 4-1).  McCauley also worked NYR/CAR Game 7 (NYR W 6-2) with referee Chris Rooney.

Wes McCauley worked alongside Garrett Rank for Round 1, handling DAL/CGY Game 1, MIN/STL Game 3, COL/NSH Game 4, and PIT/NYR Game 5 (NYR W 5-3).

Eric Furlatt, skating with ref Jon McIsaac in the opening round, refereed WSH/FLA Game 1, PIT/NYR Game 2 (NYR W 5-2), CGY/DAL Game 3, and BOS/CAR Game 5.

Tonight’s refs average 21.0 PIM/gm, right near the average.  They’re lowest in the league, though, in power plays handed out, combining for just 6.4 power plays per game.   McCauley’s called ’em right down the middle, with an even 50/50 split on power plays between home and road teams.  Furlatt’s favored home teams slightly, handing them 12% more power plays than the visitors.

Standby Officials: Jean Hebert (#15), Jonny Murray (#95)
Series Supervisor: Kay Whitmore
