Wild’s Matt Cooke Suspended 7 Games for Kneeing Avs’ Barrie

Matt Cooke has been suspended five times in his career, but not since 2011.  The former poster child for Supplemental Discipline had cleaned up his act – after ending one career and attempting to shorten many more – with the Pittsburgh Penguins.  The reformed Cooke then signed with the Minnesota Wild as a free agent. Consider his reformation a failure.   While Cooke’s efforts to remain a changed man were commendable, it was apparently just a matter of time before his stripes showed through.  Those stripes have helped earn him a lengthy break from playing hockey.   #485956557 / gettyimages.com  ...
