It’s one thing when you have to outwork a defender in the corner to keep control of the puck. It’s another when you also have to stickhandle around the ref.
Tyler Seguin was not happy with referee Dan O’Halloran’s positioning deep in the offensive zone. Seguin made sure to let the veteran official know.

O’Halloran’s in the right place – positioned in the corner along the goal line – as he knows quite well from his 1,102 career NHL games. Obviously, he’d rather not be right in the middle of the action. Seguin agrees.
Despite having to work around the on-ice crew, Seguin was able to help set up a play that resulted in a power play goal for Jamie Benn. The Stars would complete the rally in overtime, defeating the Oilers 6-5.
