Jets’ Evander Kane Suspended 2 Games for Hit

Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane has been suspended two games by the NHL’s Department of Player Safety for a hit from behind on Anaheim Ducks defenseman Clayton Stoner. Kane drove right through the numbers on Stoner with just eleven seconds to play in the second period of Sunday’s game.  Stoner was not injured on the play. Referees Chris Rooney and Brian Pochmara gave Kane a five-minute major for boarding with a game misconduct. Islanders’ Lee Awaits Hearing for Hit on Blues’ Gunnarsson

New York Islanders center Anders Lee is waiting to hear from the NHL’s Department of Player Safety for a high hit on St. Louis Blues defenseman Carl Gunnarsson. The hit happened with 12:45 to go in the second period of Saturday night’s game when Lee  came in hard on Gunnarsson, who was pinching in to play the puck at the blueline.  Lee’s forearm appeared to drive Gunnarsson’s head into the glass.
