Nashville Predators coach Peter Laviolette and referee Tom Chmielewski
Mike Ribeiro is not having a good few weeks with the refs. First, he blamed the Predators’ 2-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on the referees.
On Friday against the Avalanche, Ribeiro didn’t wait until after the game to share he thoughts on the officials. This time, it happened with 13:27 to play in the third period.
Referees for the game were Wes McCauley and rookie Tom Chmielewski. Linesmen were Mark Shewchyk and Brad Kovachik.
Whatever Ribeiro said to McCauley, it was enough to bring his night to an abrupt end. The Preds’ center was sent to the showers early, having picked up 22 minutes in penalties including a game misconduct.

The Predators went on to lose the game 3-0. Hopefully the men in stripes don’t hold a grudge.
