Two reviews made their way up to the NHL Situation Room during Sunday afternoon’s Stadium Series game between the New York Rangers and the New Jersey Devils:
At 2:48 of the second period in the Rangers/Devils game, video review supported the referee’s call on the ice that Dominic Moore’s pass deflected off Mats Zuccarello’s left skate and into the New Jersey net in a legal fashion. According to Rule 49.2 “A puck that deflects into the net off an attacking player’s skate who does not use a distinct kicking motion is a legitimate goal.” Good goal New York Rangers.
At 13:53 of the second period in the Rangers/Devils game, video review supported the referee’s call on the ice that the puck shot by New York’s Carl Hagelin entered the New Jersey net in a legal fashion after it deflected off defenseman Marek Zidlicky and netminder Martin Brodeur. Good goal New York Rangers.
