Q&A With Spengler Cup Head Referee Tobias Wehrli

Referee Tobias Wehrli has worked a number of high profile international events, including three straight World Championships.  He’ll be stepping up his game – and his responsibilities – as Head Referee of the 2015 Spengler Cup tournament.   Wehrli, 38, previously worked the 2015 World Juniors and 2015 World Championship as a referee, working the gold medal game between Canada and Russia in the latter. NHL’s Kimmerly Joins Referees & Linesmen for 2015 Spengler Cup Tournament

NHL referee Greg Kimmerly has spent nearly 20 years in the National Hockey League. With that kind of tenure, you’d think the guy would earn some time off around the holidays. Instead, Kimmerly has shipped off to Switzerland, where he’ll be officiating the Spengler Cup Tournament in Davos.  Embed from Getty Images   There’ll also be some NHL influence in the oversight of the officials.
