Lightning OT Winner Waved Off By Officials

Nikita Kucherov had the puck.  He had a breakaway and a clear shot.  When the dust settled, the puck was in the net. Unfortunately for Kucherov and the Tampa Bay Lightning, there was no celebration. IIHF 2015 World Championships Referees & Linesmen

The 2015 IIHF World Championship begins May 1 in the Czech Republic.  Games run through May 17.  Some officiating assignments of note: USA Referee Timothy Mayer, the only North American to wear armbands in the tourney, is a five-year veteran of the AHL. He and linesman Fraser McIntyre, also an AHL official, previously worked the 2014 World Juniors in Malmo, Sweden.   Linesman Paul Carnathan has also seen international action in the 2011 and 2014 World Championships, 2010 World Juniors, and IIHF qualifying tournaments.  Carnathan currently works games in the AHL, ECHL, and NCAA Division I.  Canada Canada’s lone officiating representative...
