McCauley and Charron are officiating their third game together of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The duo worked Game 2 of the Western Conference Final between the Blues and Sharks (STL W 4-2), as well as Eastern Conference Final Game 4 which saw the Bruins eliminate the Hurricanes.
McCauley was paired with Brian Pochmara for Rounds 1 and 2. In the opening round, they refereed PIT/NYI Gm 2, TBL/CBJ Gm3, BOS/TOR Gm4, and DAL/NSH Gm5. McCauley worked Gm7 of TOR/BOS with referee Kelly Sutherland. The second round saw McCauley and Pochmara handle CAR/NYI Gm1, STL/DAL Gm4 (DAL W 4-2), CBJ/BOS Gm5, and SJS/COL Gm6 (COL W 4-3OT). Once again, McCauley was paired with Sutherland for a Game 7; the duo worked COL/SJS Gm 7 (SJS W 3-2).
Charron officiated Round 1 with Gord Dwyer, handling CBJ/TBL Gm1, WPG/STL Gm3 (WPG W 6-3), NYI/PIT Gm4, VGK/SJS Gm5 (SJS W 5-2), BOS/TOR Gm6. He worked with referee Dan O’Rourke in Round 2, working CBJ/BOS Gm1, CAR/NYI Gm3, and SJS/COL Gm3 (SJS W 4-2). Interestingly, both of Charron’s partners – Dwyer and O’Rourke – are working the Conference Finals with new partners.
Scott Cherrey and Derek Amell manned the lines during Round 2 for DAL/STL Gm1, CAR/NYI Gm2, SJS/COL Gm4, CBJ/BOS Gm5, and COL/SJS Gm7. In the opening round, Amell was paired with Andrew Smith for PIT/NYI Gm1, TBL/CBJ Gm3, WPG/STL Gm4, COL/CGY Gm5, and SJS/VGK Gm6. Cherry handled Round 1 with Devin Berg, officiating PIT/NYI Gm2, WSH/CAR Gm3, NSH/DAL Gm4, and BOS/TOR Gm6.
Standby Officials: Gord Dwyer #19, Devin Berg #87
Series Supervisor: Kay Whitmore
