The Canadian Hockey League has announced the referees and linesmen selected to officiate the 2019 Memorial Cup in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  This year’s referees include two from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and one each from the Ontario Hockey League and Western Hockey League.  Three linesmen are representing the QMJHL, with the OHL and WHL each sending one for the Memorial Cup.

From the CHL:

QMJHL referees in the 2019 Memorial Cup include Jonathan Alarie of Mirabel, QC, and Mario Maillet of Bouctouch, NB. Alarie is skating in his third Memorial Cup championship, while Maillet is making his second appearance. Representing the OHL is Jason Faist of Waterloo, ON, and representing the WHL is Chris Crich of Calgary, AB. Both Faist and Crich are skating in their first Memorial Cup.

QMJHL linesmen selected to work the 2019 Memorial Cup include Justin Burchell of Quispamsis, NB, Sylvain Losier of St-Hubert, QC, and Maxime Chaput of St-Jerome, QC. Losier is attending his sixth Memorial Cup, while Chaput and Burchell are each appearing in their first Memorial Cup. Selected to skate at the 2019 Memorial Cup on behalf of the OHL is Justin Herrington, who will enjoy his first Memorial Cup experience. Representing the WHL is linesman Tarrington Wyonzek, who will appear in his second Memorial Cup.

The Memorial Cup was donated in 1919 by the Ontario Hockey Association as a memorial to those young men and women who had been given their lives in the defence of Canada during World War I.  The 2019 edition of the championship in Halifax marks the 101st time this prestigious trophy will be presented.
