Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ondrej Palat was given credit for a hit on this play. Unfortunately, referee Dean Morton was the one who unintentionally got the body on Montreal Canadiens’ defenseman Sergei Gonchar.
As the two players head behind the net, Palat gives Gonchar a shove right into Morton, who jumps to try to get out of the way. To make matters worse, both Gonchar and Morton were clipped by Palat’s stick. (You really can’t blame Morton for missing that call.)
Morton checked his teeth – it looked like they were all there – and stayed in the game.

I sure hope they do. So does Dean Morton.
