Referees Chris Rooney and Jean Hebert are back together. This duo worked Game 7 between the Kings and Oilers.

Rooney was previously paired with Graham Skilliter for STL/MIN Game 2, EDM/LAK Game 3, CGY/DAL Game 4, and WSH/FLA Game 5 (FLA W 5-3).

Hebert skated alongside ref Trevor Hanson, working NSH/COL Game 1, DAL/CGY Game 2, EDM/LAK Game 4, TBL/TOR Game 5 (TBL L 3-4), and CAR/BOS Game 6.

Rooney and Hebert combined to average 22.5 PIM per game in Round 1. Both were on the low end of power plays awarded, combining for 6.7 power plays per game — second among Round 2 ref pairings only to Wes McCauley/Eric Furlatt at 6.4.   This duo called it tighter than the league average, with 51% of power plays awarded to the home team.

Referees Gord Dwyer and Francois St. Laurent are reunited after a temporary Game 7 breakup.

Dwyer and St. Laurent worked the first round together, handling TBL/TOR Game 2, CAR/BOS Game 3, MIN/STL Game 4 (STL W 5-2), LAK/EDM Game 5, and FLA/WSH Game 6.  They were split up, both working separate Game 7s.

Dwyer handled PIT/NYR Game 7 with Kelly Sutherland, while St. Laurent worked DAL/CGY Game 7 with Dan O’Rourke.

Dwyer and St. Laurent, combined, average 20.2 PIM per game. The duo averages 8.3 power plays per game, led by Dwyer’s playoff-high 8.7 power plays per game.

Both these officials have given more power plays to the road teams. They’re the only two officials in Round 2 who have handed out more PPs (52.5%) to the visitors.
