Referees Dan O’Rourke and Francis Charron are taking the ice for the first time together this postseason.
O’Rourke worked three games during the Stanley Cup Semifinals, handling VGK/MTL Game 3 (MTL W 3-2 OT) and Game 4 (MTL L 1-2 OT) with referee Chris Lee. He also worked NYI/TBL Game 2 (TBL W 4-2) with Francois St. Laurent.
Referee Dan O’Rourke worked alongside Gord Dwyer for Round 2, covering NYI/BOS Games 2 and 6, as well as CAR/TBL Game 3 (TBL L 2-3 OT) and COL/VGK Game 4. Round 1 saw O’Rourke paired with Kyle Rehman for TBL/FLA Game 1 (TBL W 5-4), WSH/BOS Game 3, VGK/MIN Game 4, and NYI/PIT Game 5.
Tampa has gone 2-1 this Stanley Cup Playoffs with O’Rourke; the Canadiens are 1-1.
The Lightning get referee Francis Charron in back-to-back games and for the third time in four games. Charron previously worked Game 5 (TBL W 8-0) and Game 7 (TBL W 1-0) of Isles/Bolts. He also took the ice for Canadiens vs. Golden Knights Game 1 (MTL L 1-4) and Game 2 (MTL W 3-2), alongside referee Gord Dwyer.
In Round 1, Charron was paired up with ref Jon McIsaac for STL/COL Games 1 and 2, CAR/NSH Game 3, MIN/VGK Game 5, and FLA/TBL Game 6 (TBL W 4-0). Charron worked the second round with Francois St. Laurent for BOS/NYI Games 1 & 5, Wes McCauley for TBL/CAR Game 2 (TBL W 2-1), and Francois St. Laurent for COL/VGK Game 6.
The Lightning are 4-0 this postseason under Charron; Montreal is 1-1.
Referee Dan O’Rourke is working his fifth Stanley Cup Final (2011, 2012, 2016, 2020). This is Charron’s second straight trip to the Final (2020).
