In the playoffs, Chicago’s taken the third-fewest penalties (9.6 PIM/gm vs. 14.9 for the Kings) and they have the top-ranked penalty-kill at 91.7%. (The Kings are 9th at 82.8%.) The Blackhawks can better handle a penalty — good or bad call — and they take far fewer of them.
The Hawks also get the fewest calls. Their 2.7 power plays per game is lowest among the Conference finalists. The Kings average 3.3 power plays per game.
