The San Jose Sharks’ Patrick Marleau scored a beautiful power play goal against the Ducks, picking up a loose rebound and firing it in to a nearly-empty net.
Unfortunately for him, he did it after time had expired.
Referee Justin St. Pierre (#12) signaled a goal and the red light came on, but time had clearly run out.
Marleau's goal not counted as the review shows that no time remained on the clock. Ducks lead 1-0 to end the first.

From the NHL:
At 20:00 of the first period in the Sharks/Ducks game, video review confirmed the referee’s call on the ice that the clock had expired prior to the puck crossing the goal line. No goal San Jose.
While the Sharks would convert on the power play early in the second period to tie the game, they went on to lose 6-3.
