Leafs’ Kadri to Have Hearing for Headshot on Oilers’ Fraser

In the words of NHL referee Mike Leggo, Nazem Kadri, you can’t do that. Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri will have a hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety for a hit to the head of Edmonton Oilers winger Matt Fraser. The hit happened 10:58 into the third period of Monday night’s game, an eventual 4-1 win by the Oilers. Kadri extended his elbow as he skated behind the Edmonton net, clipping Fraser up high. No Suspension for Pens’ Downie After Shoving Linesman

Downie was having a very unsportsmanlike Sunday and ref Wes McCauley wasn’t having any of it.  The tough winger finished his game with 22 minutes in penalties, coming mostly on the strength of two 10-minute misconduct penalties.  The reason for the first of those, though, should have resulted in Downie missing quite a bit more time.
