The pairing of Kyle Rehman and Jean Hebert continues, having worked together since the start of the playoffs. This duo previously handled LAK/EDM Game 2, COL/SEA  Game 3, VGK/WPG Game 4, TBL/TOR Game 5 (TOR L 2-4), and NJD/NYR Game 6 in Round 1, as well as SEA/DAL Game 1, NJD/CAR Game 2, and VGK/EDM Game 3 in the Second Round.  This is their first time working a game with the Florida Panthers this postseason.

Linesmen David Brisebois and Bevan Mills were put together for the first time in the Conference Semifinals, working EDM/VGK Game 1 and DAL/SEA Games 3 and 4. Brisebois worked the opening round with Ryan Gibbons, switching to skate alongside Jonny Murray for Panthers/Bruins Game 7.  Mills suited up with Shandor Alphonso in Round 1, also picking up Rangers/Devils Game 7 with Scott Cherrey.

Referees Steve Kozari and Chris Lee worked together in Round 1, taking the ice for SEA/COL Game 1, WPG/VGK Game 2 (VGK W 5-2), EDM/LAK Game 4 (EDM W 5-4 OT), MIN/DAL Game 5, CAR/NYI Game 6, and FLA/BOS Game 7.  In the second round, they’ve seen action at SEA/DAL Game 2 and CAR/NJD Game 4.

This duo ranks in the lower half of official pairings in penalties per game and power plays per game, shifting the focus away from special teams a bit. While neither team is particularly dangerous with the man advantage, the Canes’ top-ranked postseason penalty kill (92.5%) may have less of an impact.

Linesmen Steve Barton and Bryan Pancich were paired up together for the first time in Conference Semi-Finals, taking the ice at FLA/TOR Game 1 and NJD/CAR Games 2 and 3.  In the opening round, Barton was paired on the lines with James Tobias for LAK/EDM Game 1, SEA/COL Game 2, VGK/WPG Games 3 and 4, and CAR/NYI Game 6.  Pancich skated Round 1 with Andrew Smith, manning the lines for LAK/EDM Game 2, DAL/MIN Game 3, NJD/NYR Game 4, FLA/BOS Game 5, and TOR/TBL Game 6.

 * Numbers in orange represent ref’s ranking among active officials.

* Penalty Differential represents the absolute value of the variance of penalty calls by team per game. If Team A takes two more penalties (or two fewer) than Team B, this is a 2  Lower numbers indicate less variance between total penalties in a game – that is, a closer number of calls for both teams.
