Referee Wes McCauley was mic’d up for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Playoff series between the Carolina Hurricanes and New York Islanders.

New York’s Zach Parise was whistled for the first penalty of the game, a goaltender interference call after he was pushed into Antti Raanta by Carolina defenseman Jalen Chatfield.

“Now you’re on top of him,” McCauley explains to Parise. “I’ve gotta protect these guys.”

“But I wouldn’t be there [if I hadn’t been pushed],” Parise replies.

“Okay. Fair enough.”
