It’s a new crew – and a new pairing – for Game 2! Referees Wes McCauley and Jean Hebert are working their first game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs together. Tonight will be Hebert’s first Stanley Cup Final appearance.
Ref Wes McCauley has been paired up with Eric Furlatt throughout the playoffs. The pair are coming off three games in the Conference Finals: NYR/TBL Game 1 (TBL L 2-6), COL/EDM Game 3 (COL W 4-2), and NYR/TBL Game 5 (TBL W 3-1).
McCauley and Furlatt previously partnered up in Round 1 for TBL/TOR Game 7 (TBL W 2-1), then continued in Round 2 at EDM/CGY Game 1, STL/COL Game 3, and CAR/NYR Game 4. McCauley also worked NYR/CAR Game 7 with referee Chris Rooney.
Wes McCauley worked alongside Garrett Rank for Round 1, handling DAL/CGY Game 1, MIN/STL Game 3, COL/NSH Game 4 (COL W 5-3), and PIT/NYR Game 5.
Referee Jean Hebert was paired up with Chris Rooney late in the opening round, sticking together through Round 2 and the Conference Finals. Hebert and Rooney handled LAK/EDM Game 7 in Round 1; Round 2 assignment at TBL/FLA Game 2 (TBL W 2-1), NYR/CAR Game 3, and STL/COL Game 5 (COL L 4-5)
Hebert skated alongside ref Trevor Hanson in Round 1, working NSH/COL Game 1 (COL W 7-2), DAL/CGY Game 2, EDM/LAK Game 4, TBL/TOR Game 5 (TBL L 3-4), and CAR/BOS Game 6.
Linesmen Jonny Murray and Kiel Murchison are working their second game together this postseason, having taken the ice at COL/EDM Game 3. In the Conference Finals, Murray also worked COL/EDM Game 4 and NYR/TBL Game 6, both with Ryan Gibbons. Murchison worked just one additional Conference Final game: TBL/NYR Game 1, with Matt MacPherson.
Standby Officials: Kelly Sutherland (#11), Steve Barton (#59)
