Referees Chris Rooney and Jean Hebert are working their second game of the Conference Finals together, having taken the ice for Rangers/Lightning Game 2.

This duo is working their sixth game of the playoffs tonight after officiating LAK/EDM Game 7 in Round 1 (EDM W 2-0), and Round 2 assignments TBL/FLA Game 2, NYR/CAR Game 3, and STL/COL Game 5 (STL W 5-4).  Rooney was also paired up with Wes McCauley for NYR/CAR Game 7.

Rooney was previously partnered with Graham Skilliter for STL/MIN Game 2, EDM/LAK Game 3 (EDM W 8-2), CGY/DAL Game 4, and WSH/FLA Game 5.

Hebert skated alongside ref Trevor Hanson in Round 1, working NSH/COL Game 1 (COL W 7-2), DAL/CGY Game 2, EDM/LAK Game 4 (EDM L 0-4), TBL/TOR Game 5, and CAR/BOS Game 6.

Rooney and Hebert combined to average 22.5 PIM per game. Both were on the low end of power plays awarded, combining for 6.7 power plays per game — second among Round 2 ref pairings only to Wes McCauley/Eric Furlatt at 6.4.   This duo called it tighter than the league average, with 51% of power plays awarded to the home team.

Linesmen Jonny Murray and Ryan Gibbons are back together, having previously officiated BOS/CAR Game 7, NYR/CAR Games 2 and 3, and COL/STL Game 6 (COL W 3-2/Series-Winner). In what’s been a bit of a Conference Finals shuffle, Murray recently worked COL/EDM Game 3 (COL W 4-2), skating with linesman Kiel Murchison;  Gibbons handled TBL/NYR Game 2 with linesman Matt MacPherson.

Murray also previously worked with linesman Matt MacPherson for NYR/CAR Game 7.

Standby Officials: Wes McCauley (#4), Matt MacPherson (#83)
Series Supervisor:  Rod Pasma
