It’s a new pairing for Game 7! Referees Wes McCauley and Chris Rooney are working together for the first time this postseason. McCauley worked Game 4 of this series; Rooney handled Game 3.
Wes McCauley worked alongside Garrett Rank for Round 1, handling DAL/CGY Game 1, MIN/STL Game 3, COL/NSH Game 4, and PIT/NYR Game 5 (NYR W 5-3). He was paired with Eric Furlatt for TBL/TOR Game 7, then continued in Round 2 at EDM/CGY Game 1, STL/COL Game 3, CAR/NYR Game 4 (NYR W 4-1), and CGY/EDM Game 5.
Chris Rooney started the playoffs with Graham Skilliter for STL/MIN Game 2, EDM/LAK Game 3, CGY/DAL Game 4, and WSH/FLA Game 5. He joined forced with Jean Hebert for LAK/EDM Game 7 and, in Round 2, TBL/FLA Game 2, NYR/CAR Game 3 (NYR W 3-1), and STL/COL Game 5.
McCauley and Rooney are both on the lower end of power plays awarded – McCauley is lowest in power plays, with Rooney tied for second. Combined, they average 6.0 power player per game. They tend to call it right down the middle, though, with 51% of power plays awarded to the home team.
Standby Officials: Francois St. Laurent (#8), Andrew Smith (#51)
Series Supervisor: Paul Devorski
