Referees Gord Dwyer and Francois St. Laurent are keeping things going with their eighth playoff game together – separated only for a pair of Game 7s in the opening round.

Dwyer and St. Laurent worked Round 1 together, handling TBL/TOR Game 2, CAR/BOS Game 3 (CAR L 2-4), MIN/STL Game 4, LAK/EDM Game 5, and FLA/WSH Game 6. The duo was reunited in Round 2 for STL/COL Game 2 and CGY/EDM Game 3. They’ve been off for five days; we’d expected them to be working FLA/TBL Game 5, but the Lightning’s sweep gave these refs some extra rest.

Dwyer handled PIT/NYR Game 7 (NYR W 4-3) with Kelly Sutherland, while St. Laurent worked DAL/CGY Game 7 with Dan O’Rourke.

Dwyer and St. Laurent, combined, average 20.2 PIM per game. The duo averages 8.3 power plays per game, led by Dwyer’s playoff-high 8.7 power plays per game.

Both these officials have given more power plays to the road teams. They’re the only two officials in Round 2 who have handed out more PPs (52.5%) to the visitors.

Linesmen Steve Barton and Ryan Daisy have been paired all postseason, handling PIT/NYR Game 5 – NYR won only 33% of faceoffs in that one.. Barton worked with Devin Berg for PIT/NYR Game 7, with NYR winning 49% of draws in that series-deciding game. This is the first time either of them have seen the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Standby Officials: Jon McIsaac (#2), Andrew Smith (#51)
Series Supervisor:  Paul Devorski
