Ref Kelly Sutherland previously worked NSH/CAR Game 1, PIT/NYI Game 3, and FLA/TBL Game 4 (TBL W 6-2) with Garrett Rank; he also handled FLA/TBL Game 5 (TBL L 1-4) with Francois St. Laurent.  In the second round, Sudsy worked alongside Brian Pochmara for VGK/COL Game 1, BOS/NYI Game 3, CAR/TBL Game 4 (TBL W 6-4), and VGK/COL Game 5.

Game 5 against Vegas was Montreal’s first win under Sutherland since January 7, 2018. After the back-to-back semifinal wins, the Canadiens have since improved to 3-9 under Sutherland over the past four seasons, and 4-14 dating back to 2016-17.
