O’Rourke and Lee are working together for the first time during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. This is O’Rourke’s second semifinals game, having refereed NYI/TBL Game 2 with referee Francois St. Laurent.
Referee Dan O’Rourke worked alongside Gord Dwyer for Round 2, covering NYI/BOS Game 2 and Game 6, as well as CAR/TBL Game 3 and COL/VGK Game 4. Round 1 saw O’Rourke paired with Kyle Rehman for TBL/FLA Game 1, WSH/BOS Game 3, VGK/MIN Game 4 (VGK W 4-0), and NYI/PIT Game 5.
Chris Lee most recently worked TBL/CAR Game 5 alongside Wes McCauley. He was previously paired with referee Jean Hebert, officiating TBL/CAR Game 1, VGK/COL Game 2 (VGK L 2-3 OT), and BOS/NYI Game 4 in Round 2. The pairing handled BOS/WSH Game 2 and Game 5, NSH/CAR Game 2, and COL/STL Game 3 in the opening round. Lee also worked alongside Francois St. Laurent for PIT/NYI Game 6.
Neither Lee nor O’Rourke have worked a Habs game since last season.
