Rooney and Joannette are working their first game together of the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Rooney refereed Game 6 of Stars/Blues on Sunday afternoon as well as Game 1 of the series.
Rooney was paired with Gord Dwyer for Round 2, handling DAL/STL Game 1 (STL W 3-2), COL/SJS Game 2, BOS/CBJ Game 4, and STL/DAL Game 6 (STL W 4-1). Rooney worked with referee Kyle Rehman in the opening round, working VGK/SJS Game 1, STL/WPG Game 2 (STL W 4-3), BOS/TOR Game 3, COL/CGY Game 5, and WSH/CAR Game 6.
Joannette worked Round 1 with Jon McIsaac for CBJ/TBL Game 1, SJS/VGK Game 3, WPG/STL Game 4 (WPG W 2-1 OT), and NSH/DAL Game 6 (DAL W 2-1 OT); he was also paired with Kevin Pollock for CAR/WSH Game 7. He joined forces with Tim Peel for Round 2, officiating CBJ/BOS Game 2, NYI/CAR Game 3, and COL/SJS Game 5.
Murray and Devorski are also a new pairing. Murray partnered up with Gibbons for Round 2 (CBJ/BOS Game 1, STL/DAL Game 3, NYI/CAR Game 4), while Devorski worked alongside Deving Berg ( DAL/STL Game 2, BOS/CBJ Game 3, COL/SJS Game 5). In the opening round, Murray manned the lines with Tony Sericolo (CAR/WSH Game 1, TOR/BOS Game 2, NYI/PIT Game 4, STL/WPG Game 5, NSH/DAL Game 6), while Devorski skated with Kiel Murchison (TOR/BOS Game 1, CAR/WSH Game 2, SJS/VGK Game 4, SJS/VGK Game 5).
