Tonight’s four-man crew of Kozari, Sutherland, Gibbons, and Murray all worked Game 3 between the St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars.
Sutherland and Kozari were paired up starting in Round 2, where they worked COL/SJS Gm1 and STL/DAL Gm3. Kozari officiated the opening round with Jean Hebert, handling TOR/BOS Gm1, CAR/WSH Gm2 (CAR L 4-3 OT), CGY/COL Gm3, STL/WPG Gm5, and SJS/VGK Gm6. Sutherland refereed alongside Chris Lee, working STL/WPG Gm1, VGK/SJS Gm2, and TBL/CBJ Gm4. He also worked TOR/BOS Gm7 with Wes McCauley. This is the first time referee Kelly Sutherland is seeing the New York Islanders this postseason.
Murray and Gibbons are working their third game together after handling CBJ/BOS Gm1 and STL/DAL Gm3 in the second round. Murray previously worked with Tony Sericolo (CAR/WSH Gm1, TOR/BOS Gm2, NYI/PIT Gm4, STL/WPG Gm5, NSH/DAL Gm6), while Gibbons skated with Steve Miller (VGK/SJS Gm1, VGK/SJS Gm2, WPG/STL Gm3, TBL/CBJ Gm4) for the opening round of the playoffs.
