Zac Rinaldo, please have a seat.   Make yourself comfortable.  You’re going to be here awhile…

The gritty Flyers winger has been suspended eight games for charging and boarding Pittsburgh Penguins blueliner Kris Letang.  The play happened at 15:36 of the first when the two teams met on January 20 in Philadelphia.

Referee Kevin Pollock immediately called Rinaldo for boarding, handing out a major penalty that also included a game misconduct.

Letang did not return to the game.

Rinaldo, as a repeat offender, loses salary on a per-game basis, which means $73,170.72 will be leaving his wallet and heading into the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

Rinaldo will be eligible to return to the Philadelphia lineup on Tuesday, February 17, when the Flyers take on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
