Rookies make plenty of mistakes in their first seasons in the National Hockey League. Luckily for Chicago Blackhawks’ Connor Bedard, referee Jean Hebert was able to help him avoid an embarrasing one.

Bedard was called for holding the stick of Florida Panthers center Nick Cousins.  Skating off to serve his time, Bedard headed right for the wrong penalty box

A quick redirect from Hebert helped him to his intended destination.

Berard has nine goals and four assists – along with eight penalty minutes – in 13 career NHL games.
