Clague, who had his head turned, appeared not to see the official directly in his path. The two collided, with Hennessey obviously getting the worst of it.
Hennessey did not return to the game; the remainder of the match was handled by a three-man crew of referee Justin Kea with linesmen Spencer Knox and Dylan Blujus.
No word on Hennessey’s status; he’s not in the American Hockey League’s officiating lineup for tonight’s games.
The Rochester Americans went on to defeat the Laval Rocket 7-4. Officials for the game were Rob Hennessey (#87) and Justin Kea (#44), with linespersons Spencer Knox (#66) and Dylan Blujus (#70).
