San Jose Barracuda forward Ozzy Wiesblatt has been suspended three games for interference after an illegal hit on Rockford IceHogs’ Kale Howarth.

Wiesblatt left the Barracuda bench and headed directly into the Rockford zone, delivering a solid body check to Howarth, who was not in possession of the puck.  This is interference.  Howarth remained down on the ice before being helped off.

Referees Jackson Kozari and Taylor Burzminski issued a major penalty and game misconduct to Weisblatt for an illegal check to the head.

The IceHogs scored twice on the ensuing power play, en route to a 7-2 win.

Wiesblatt will miss the Barracuda’s games against Rockford on October 14, and on October 20 and 21 in Henderson. He’s eligible to return to the San Jose lineup on October 25 when they host the Silver Knights.
