Saturday’s AHL Calder Cup Playoff Referees and Linesmen:

Game 2 – 10:00 PM ET

Beach officiated Games 2 and 5 of the Eastern Conference Final between the Hershey Bears and Rochester Americans, along with Games 2 and 5 of the Western Conference Final between the Coachella Valley Firebirds and the Milwaukee Admirals.

Referee Brandon Schrader took the ice for Western Conference Final Games 1, 4, and 6, along with the deciding Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final. 

Schrader – skating alongside ref Carter Sandlak – worked both of the series-deciding Games 6 in the Conference Finals; he also handled the quarterfinal series-clincher for Admirals/Stars (Game 5).

With one ref opening at the NHL level, are these big assignments an indicator that he – and Schrader – may be in the running for a full-time call-up?
