The Conference Finals quartet of Kelly Sutherland, Trevor Hanson, Kiel Murchison, and Steve Barton continues, having worked Game 1 of this series (VGK W 4-3 OT) and Game 3 of Carolina Hurricanes vs. Florida Panthers.
Referees Kelly Sutherland and Trevor Hanson were paired up beginning in Round 2, taking the ice for FLA/TOR Game 1, EDM/VGK Game 2 (VGK L 1-5), DAL/SEA Game 4 (DAL W 6-3), and NJD/CAR Game 5.
Sutherland previously worked Round 1 alongside referee Kendrick Nicholson, handling WPG/VGK Game 1 (VGK L 1-5), SEA/COL Game 2, NJD/NYR Game 3, NYI/CAR Game 5, and DAL/MIN Game 6 (DAL W 4-1).
Hanson, working with ref Eric Furlatt, officiated LAK/EDM Game 1, TBL/TOR Game 2, VGK/WPG Game 3 (VGK W 5-4 OT), COL/SEA Game 4, and BOS/FLA Game 6.
This is Hanson’s first trip to the Conference Finals and Sutherland’s 13th — and 9th straight.
Linesmen Kiel Murchison and Steve Barton were paired up starting with the Conference Finals, wokring DAL/VGK Game 1 and CAR/FLA Game 3.
Murchison worked the opening round with Libor Suchanek, later pairing up with Shandor Alphonso in Round 2 for SEA/DAL Game 1, EDM/VGK Game 2, NJD/CAR Game 5, and VGK/EDM Game 6.
Barton began the playoffs skating alongside James Tobias for LAK/EDM Game 1, SEA/COL Game 2, VGK/WPG Games 3 and 4, and CAR/NYI Game 6. He worked Round 2 with Bryan Pancich, handling FLA/TOR Game 1, NJD/CAR Games 2 and 3, and EDM/VGK Game 5.
