Rooney went down, but was able to remain in the game.
Then, a week later, he gets nailed by the puck on a dump in from San Jose’s Henry Thrun.

This time, Rooney left the game for repairs — temporarily leaving Wes McCauley as the lone ref in a three-man officiating crew.
Once again, though, Rooney returned to action.
He wrapped up his regular season in Edmonton on Thursday… successfully avoiding both players and pucks.
