The Boston Bruins already took out opposing goaltender Antti Raanta. Now their ice crew is going after the officials…
Veteran linesman Jonny Murray was bowled over by a member of the TD Garden ice crew pushing a snow bucket.
The linesman went down hard, testing his legs as he returned to his skates. Though he appeared to be shaken up, Murray was able to remain in the game.
Murray, from Beauport, Quebec, is in his 22nd NHL season. He’s worked 1,358 regular season games along with 150 playoff appearances – including four trips to the Stanley Cup Final.
No word on whether Player Safety will be calling up the Boston ice crew for that dangerous hit…
UPDATE: Murray finished the game, but has been sidelined since. His blueline partner, Shandor Alphonso, worked with Matt MacPherson for his next assignment.
Referees for the game were Gord Dwyer (#19) and Francois St. Laurent (#8). Linesmen were Jonny Murray (#95) and Shandor Alphonso (#52).
