Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith got his bell rung… by a linesman.
A flying knee from linesman Ryan Gibbons took Keith out of the game. Keith stumbled and fell to the ice while playing the puck along the boards. Gibbons attempted to avoid the play, jumping up on the boards, only to catch the fallen Keith up high.
Adding insult to injury – quite literally – Carolina’s Martin Necas gathered up the loose puck and scored on the breakaway to put the Hurricanes up 1-0.
Unfortunately for Keith, he suffered a concussion on the play. He’s expected to miss the Hawks’ remaining two games of the season.
