Two NHL linesmen have been sidelined due to COVID protocol.

Linesmen Kory Nagy and James Tobias are both out, according to The Athletic’s John Vogl.  The duo worked a pair of Devils/Sabres games last week. Since those matches, a combined 24 players from both teams have been placed under protocol, along with Sabres head coach Ralph Krueger.

Nagy was scheduled to work Bruins/Flyers on February 3, but was scratched and replaced by Libor Suchanek just prior to game time.

Tobias worked Avs/Wild on February 2, alongside linesman Trent Knorr and referees Kelly Sutherland and TJ Luxmore.

The referees for those two Buffalo games – Chris Rooney and Furman South – appear not to have been impacted, as they’ve both continued in the officiating rotation, as have the remaining officials from Tobias’s last appearance.

The National Hockey League does not publish health information regarding its officials.
