You never want to put your team offside.

Even in the final minute, with his club trailing 4-1, Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg did all he could do to avoid the whistle.

Forsberg took to the air, soaring over the blueline as Roman Josi carried the puck into the offensive zone.

 

 

Unfortunately for Forsberg, it was all for naught.  Linesman Ryan Gibbons blew the whistle, stopping play for the offside.

Moments later, the Preds and Coyotes came together for a scrum in the offensive zone.  Arizona’s Oliver Ekman-Larsson picked up four minutes for roughing, with Nashville’s Josi heading off for two.

Nothing was called on Forsberg for the dive…
