Referee Tim Peel is almost ready to return.
The veteran referee suffered a fractured ankle back in December during a game between the Chicago Blackhawks. The injury left Peel sidelined for over two months. Not only did his miss regular season action, but he was also ruled out for the 2020 All-Star Game in his current hometown of St. Louis. Peel found out he had been selected to work the event on the day of his injury.
Ten weeks later, Peel has been cleared to return to action.
NHL Referee Tim Peel was cleared to start reffing again !!!! Absolutely amazing how fast he’s come back from that nasty injury where @JonathanToews fell on him and snapped his ankle a few short months ago ! One week away ????? pic.twitter.com/RMu70jfAQ3

He’ll be suiting up in the AHL this weekend, working a conditioning stint. He’s slated to officiate Friday’s game between the Hartford Wolf Pack and Binghamton Devils.
Expect to see #20 back in the NHL next week…
