The games might not count, but the fines sure do.
The NHL’s Department of Player Safety has fined Tampa Bay Lightning forward Cedric Paquette $2,500 for high sticking Florida Panthers forward Frank Vatrano. The incident took place in the third period of Thursday’s game in Sunrise, Florida.
Paquette was given a minor penalty for high-sticking on the play by referees Kelly Sutherland and Garrett Rank.
This is the first fine issued by Player Safety this preseason.
