Forward Artur Kayumov left a path of destruction on Friday, leaving behind an injured player, a fuming linesman, and a fired-up crowd – all in a 3-0 shutout loss.

Kayumov, a Chicago Blackhawks draft pick who plays for the KHL’s Yaroslavl Lokomotiv, started things off with a hit to the head of Jokerit’s Jesper Jensen. As the two teams came together, pushing and shoving, Kayumov fired a punch that caught linesman Ivan Dedyulya.

The Lokomotiv forward was given a five-minute major for an illegal check to the head, along with two game misconduct penalties from referees Maxim Sidorenko and Igor Fateyev . No word on whether additional disciplinary measures may be taken by the league, though we expect a suspension is forthcoming.

Under the NHL Rulebook, Kayumov would’ve received an automatic 20 games for applying physical force to an official with intent to injure. The KHL Rulebook has no similar automatic suspension provision.

Kayumov has four goals and seven assists, along with 55 PIM, in 35 games this season for Lokomotiv.
