Konstantin Komarek of the SHL’s Malmö Redhawks attempted an Olympic-caliber dive in Thursday’s game against Skellefteå.
With his team on the power play trailing 3-0, Komarek attempted to draw a penalty to give the Redhawks a 5-on-3. His plan backfired.
The referee didn’t bite on the dive, sending Komarek to the box for his efforts and evening up play at four-on-four. The judges, though, scored him a 5.5.
