Everybody’s had a rough day at the office.
The Belleville Senators’ broadcast crew of Jack Miller and Paul Svoboda wasn’t letting the officials off the hook for what they deemed an “off night” on Wednesday as the Sens hosted the Binghamton Devils.
A hooking call on Belleville’s Joseph LaBate, late in the second period with the Senators leading 4-0, appeared to be the straw that broke the camel’s back.
A total of 18 penalties were called in the game for a total of 56 penalty minutes, which includes a pair of fights – one with a two-and-ten instigator call on Belleville’s Patrick Sieloff.
The Senators went on to win the game 5-2. Referees for the game were Alex Ross and Furman South; linesmen were Kevin Hastings and Cory Piche.
